The IFTM – Top Resa show is a major annual event for the professionals of the industry of the tourism and the journey. Created in 1978, the named show ” Top Resa ” took place initially at Deauville and was a specialist of the leisure target. It is in 2008 when it was renamed ” IFTM Top Resa ” and settles down in Paris. On this occasion, it becomes multi-target by covering all the motives for travel: leisure activities, affairs, special event managements. It allows to retranscribe at best the evolutions of the sector. It proposes a world tourist offer B2B.
This year for its 39th edition, the show took place from the 26th to the 29th of September at the Porte de Versailles exhibition park at Paris. 32 480 professionnal visitors came to this show, whose 82% of French people and more than 1700 brands on 30 000m² of exhibition. Moreover, 105 airports and airlines, 14 online travel agencies and 43 shipping company took part of this show.
A wish to widen the spectre of the exhibitors and the visitors was quenched. The number of visitors is increasing by 5 % with regard to 2016. In 2017, we can also note an internationalization of the public because 18 % of the visitors were foreign visitors while in 2016, they represented 12 % of the visitors. Furthermore, we could find new typologies of exhibitors, around the long-sustainable or medical tourism for example.
The goal of visits were different according to the people working in the tourist industry. 24 % of the visitors quoted the business trip as the aim of their coming. 14 % of the visitors targeted as for them the MICE industry. Airlines and tour operators, such as Icelandair, Lufthansa, Air Canada or even Aigle Azur, come to present their novelties.
